If you’re like me, winter can be a time for social hibernation and general complacency. Yes, I still go out on the weekends and meet new people (and of course cold-approach), but my drive and motivation to connect with girls is significantly lower from November through February, especially during the daytime.

Luckily, New York has seen a drastic change of weather in the last week or two. With that change comes the usual boost in mood and inspiration to hit the streets and start ‘number farming’ as Krauser would put it. Suddenly, girls are wearing less, looking friendlier, and the excuses to not approach are beginning to run out. In the dead of winter, you can tell yourself that a girl won’t want to stop and engage you in sub-zero temperatures, or that it’s so cold out your nose is running and you don’t want to stop mid-conversation to blow your nose, or that you want to head indoors as fast as possible to warm your hands and prevent hypothermia…the list goes on.

Trust that you aren’t the only one keen on meeting new people now that the sun is out and the snow has melted. Girls are also feeling the same positive endorphins and are likely to welcome a confident player’s approach. If you keep your eyes peeled in the warmer NYC months, you are likely to see swarms of daygamers tearing up Union Square and Washington Square Park. Most of these guys, however, aren’t out in the winter prowling, meaning many of these attractive girls haven’t felt the allure of a solid direct daygame approach in months.

On the other hand, if you don’t like hitting the off-switch during the wintertime, here are some of my favorite spots to meet cool girls without having to comb the streets.

  • Museum of Modern Art (European tourist magnet)
  • Metropolitan Museum of Art
  • Macy’s (massive ground level with a lot of solo shoppers)
  • Bloomingdales
  • Century 21
  • Barnes and Noble (for the intellectually inclined daygamer)

The weather looks to be warming up all over Eastern Europe as well. Planning to do a brief scouting tour of Vienna in the next 2 weeks before stopping in Krakow to re-visit some old leads as well as buddies. It’s best to avoid EE during the summer and to plan a visit during the school year.
